Sinus Infection

This is caused by either a bacteria or a virus. Infection caused by a virus is more common than bacteria and will resolve on its own. Antibiotics do not help infections caused by viruses. Symptoms caused by a bacterial infection tend to differ from a viral infection. Symptoms include headache, nasal congestion, yellow or green discharge, sore throat, cough, postnasal drip, and pain/pressure behind your eyes, cheeks, or ears. We recommend supportive treatment for the first 5-7 days including Tylenol or Ibuprofen, decongestants, and antihistamines. If your condition continues to worsen Immediate Care Online can help.
